A live-action film based on the writer Mark Millar's 2003 comic book mini-series, "Superman: Red Son" is reportedly in development by Warner Bros.
Millar recently revealed on Twitter that the studio is looking for a director to take on the project followed by a reply from "Kong: Skull Island" director Jordan Vogt-Roberts stating that his pitch for a Red Son movie had been turned down "months ago":
Wait, really? Because I pitched it to them months ago and was told no. It's the most punk rock thing the DCEU could do in my mind.

"Superman: Red Son" delved into the premise of "what if Superman had been raised in the Soviet Union?" and spanned the years of 1953-2001 mixing alternate versions of DC super-heroes with alternate-reality versions of real political figures such as Joseph Stalin and John F. Kennedy.
As of this writing, Warner Bros. has not confirmed or denied any reports of a Red Son movie being in development.
