Inside 'Action Comics #1000' with DC All Access

by Neil Cole

Eighty years ago, the world's first superhero was born in the pages of an exciting new comic magazine. The superhero was Superman, and the comic magazine was Action Comics, which has remained in publication ever since.

Today, they both hit an unprecedented milestone as Action Comics becomes the first comic series to publish its 1000th issue. Available today in comic shops everywhere, Action Comics #1000 contains eighty pages of Superman stories from some of the biggest names in comics today.

DC All Access pays tribute to this iconic series and spectacular new issue in this week's episode, talking to many of the Action Comics #1000 contributors including new Action Comics and Superman writer Brian Michael Bendis, Scott Snyder, Dan Jurgens, Marv Wolfman and more. Plus, they look at the beautiful new hardcover celebrating eighty years of Action Comics and some of the other events taking place that pay tribute to the Man of Steel.

In addition, DC All Access looks at some of the most recent updates to DC Universe Online, unbox the Worlds' Finest Justice League box, preview Mad Magazine's new Twitch stream, look at some of this week's other noteworthy comics, and give you a chance to win a new DC Designer Batman Statue from DC Collectibles.
