April 22, 2017: Mark Gibbon Cast as General Zod on "Supergirl"

Actor Mark Gibbon has been cast in the role of General Zod on "Supergirl" and will appear in the season 2 finale of the hit CW series.
The iconic Superman villain had been rumored to be appearing on the show earlier this week and now CBR has confirmed with The CW that the rumor is indeed true.
The role of Zod will certainly not be Gibbon's first venture into the superhero television/film universe as the actor has previously appeared in "Man of Steel" as an oil rig worker and in three different roles on "Smallville".
While it is currently unknown how General Zod will make his debut in the Supergirl season finale, there is a possibility it could involve the return of Non (Chris Vance) who has not been seen on the series since season 1 when he was blinded and defeated by Supergirl.
It's also possible that his appearance will be featured as just a cameo to set up a larger role as the season 3 primary villain. This year's finale will also feature the return of Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman/Clark Kent.
The season two finale of "Supergirl" is scheduled to air on Monday, May 22nd.
