May 18, 2016: Rare "Atom Man Vs. Superman" Poster Heads to Auction

An extremely rare and vintage "Atom Man Vs. Superman" 3-Sheet movie poster will be available at auction this July as part of the upcoming Hake's Americana & Collectibles Auction #218.
The 1950 film from Columbia Pictures featured the second live-action Superman screen appearance with actor Kirk Alyn in the lead role as Superman/Clark Kent alongside Noel Neill as Lois Lane, Lyle Talbot as Lex Luthor/The Atom Man, Tommy Bond as Jimmy Olsen, and Pierre Watkin as Perry White.
The plot involved Luthor - secretly the Atom Man - blackmailing the city of Metropolis by threatening to destroy the entire community at which point Perry White assigns Clark, Lois, and Jimmy to cover the story.
The 3-sheet poster features a prominent image of Superman against a vibrant & colorful background featuring the characters of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor/Atom Man. Also featured on the poster is an inscription reading "Based on the SUPERMAN adventure feature appearing in SUPERMAN and ACTION COMICS magazines and in daily and Sunday newspapers coast to coast. Adapted from the SUPERMAN radio program."
