An original and complete Superman costume worn by the late Christopher Reeve in both "Superman: The Movie" and "Superman: II" will be featured in the upcoming "Hollywood Extravaganza Auction".
The auction will be hosted by Premiere Props which offers the following description of the vintage costume:
Screen worn Superman outfit consisting of shirt, belt, pants, red leather boots and red cape with golden insignia, worn by actor Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel in Superman: The Movie (1978) and Superman II (1980). These films redefined superhero films forever after and sparked the current trend of big-budget, special effects filled comic book extravaganzas. Reeve is the actor most associated with the Superman role in the modern age; the distinguished actor of stage and screen is perhaps the definitive Man of Tomorrow. Includes distinctive "S" shield on the chest, the immortal emblem of Superman. This costume was initially purchased at a Profiles in History auction and is at last available again to be yours!
Estimate: $20,000 - $30,000
Other Superman related items available at auction include autographed photos of both Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh as well as a t-shirt worn on screen by Henry Cavill in "Man of Steel".
The "Hollywood Extravaganza Auction" begins at 11:00AM (PST) on Saturday, June 11th in El Segundo, CA.
