Sunday, June 15 in Metropolis, IL was once again the setting for the always popular annual Superman Celebration Costume Contest.
Much to the delight of those in attendance, the weather was perfect with a low breeze and, most importantly, low humidity. While that sounds nice overall, some of the participants who dressed in more elaborate costumes had to be sweating.
Steven Kirk once again served as the host of the contest and, as in years past, dressed as a memorable character. This year's choice was Austin Powers whom Mr. Kirk also did a perfect impersonation of during the course of his hosting duties.
Judges this year were Jim Hall, Franchesco!, and illusionist Morgan Strebler.
This year's contest was once again based on the following 30 point system:
10 for costume 10 for character 10 for stage presences
