While on the promotional circuit for his latest film, "The Lone Ranger", actor Armie Hammer spoke with the Australian television show, The Feed about his starring role in the film as well as his being cast as Batman in Warner Bros.' failed attempt at a Justice League movie in 2007.
"Australia had an election and changed [it's] Prime Minister who changed the tax rebate incentive program," said Hammer. "Then we had a writer's strike in the US so we couldn't change anything in the script and everybody wanted to change things. So it was a perfect storm."
When asked if he would ever consider starring in Warner Bros. newly planned Justice League film, Hammer was hesitant and unsure if such a film would work in light of Marvel Studio's recent dominance at the box office with their slate of superhero films.
"I don't know, man. That was before Marvel had crushed it with everything. It doesn't seem like it would have been executed as well as Marvel's done theirs.
"What they did is they created a following for each of the individual characters and then put them together in a movie, so you had all the people who were Thor fans, Hulk fans, Iron Man fans, all come together to watch this one mega movie. That was a great idea."
George Miller was set to direct the 2007 film which, in additon to Hammer, would have starred D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Adam Brody as Barry Allen/The Flash, rapper Common as John Stewart/Green Lantern, and Australian model Megan Gale as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
