The first full-length trailer for filmmaker Jon Schnepp's documentary, "The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?" will officially premiere this week at San Diego Comic-Con.
The trailer will be debut on Thursday, July 24th, at 11:30 at the panel “Masters of the Web: Comic Book Movies” in Room 24ABC at the convention.
The documentary delves into the story of director Tim Burton's mid-to-late 1990's attempt to create a Superman movie based on the "Death of Superman" storyline. The film, tentatively titled "Superman Lives!", was to be based on a script by Kevin Smith and star actor Nicolas Cage in the lead role as Superman/Clark Kent.
"I'm so proud to be finally able to share some of the amazing interviews and incredible discoveries that I've found while making this feature film documentary," said Schnepp in a statement. "I'm looking forward to finishing this unique yet expansive journey into the making of a movie that was never made."
Following the Comic Con premiere, "The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?" trailer will also debut on-line at 2pm PST at www.supportsupermanlives.com.
