Animated Super Pets Movie in the Works from Warner Bros.

by Neil Cole

A new Super Pets animated movie featuring the various four-legged furry friends of iconic DC Comics characters is currently in development at Warner Bros. and will be written and directed by Jared Stern.

Stern has previously worked on such animated films as "The LEGO Batman Movie," "The LEGO Ninjago Movie," "Bolt," "The Princess and the Frog," "Wreck-It Ralph," "Meet the Beetles," and "It's a Small World" as well as the upcoming films "Storks" and "Smallfoot".

The Super Pets first appeared as a team in "Adventure Comics #293" (1962) as an all-animal version of the Legion of Super-Heroes and included Krypto the Super-Dog, Streaky the Super-Cat, Bat-Cow, Flexi the Plastic Bird, and Aquaman's seahorse, Storm.

Most recently, the Super Pets were featured in animated shorts which aired during Cartoon Network's DC Nation and featured Krypto (voiced by David Kaye), Streaky the Supercat (voiced by Debra Wilson), and Ace the Bat-Hound (voiced by Diedrich Bader).

At this time, it is unclear as to which version of the Super Pets will ultimately be featured in the upcoming animated film.
