WBTV has announced that actor Bruce Boxleitner (TRON, TRON: Legacy) has been cast in the role of Vice President Baker in the upcoming 4th season of "Supergirl", replacing Brent Spiner (Independence Day, Star Trek: The Next Generation) who was previously cast in the role.
It is reported that Spiner stepped down from the role in order to deal with a family issue. Boxleitner will now play VP Baker who is described as "Adept and politically minded, Vice President Baker makes for an unlikely leader, but steps up in a big way when his country needs him most."
No announcement has yet been made in regard to which episode Boxleitner will make his debut appearance as VP Baker. However, the role is listed as recurring throughout season 4 of the hit CW television series.
Boxleitner is the latest actor to join the season 4 cast following the announcements of Sam Witwer as Agent Liberty, David Ajala as Manchester Black, April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley, Nicole Maines as Nia Nal (aka Dreamer), and Rhona Mitra as Mercy Graves.
"Supergirl" season 4 will premiere on Sunday, October 14th at 8:00PM (EST).
