Actor Richard Belzer Passes Away at Age 78

Actor Richard Belzer has passed away at the age of 78 from complications of circulatory and respiratory conditions.

Belzer was best known for his role of 23 years as Detective John Munch whom he portrayed as a regular cast member on the NBC police drama series "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".

Superman fans will also remember Belzer for his role as the DC Comics character Inspector William Henderson in several episodes of the first season of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman".

He also starred in the role of WCCN TV news anchor and reporter Joe Kline, known as the "Voice of the City", on the original "The Flash" television series which aired on CBS for one season from 1990 - 1991.

Belzer passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France. He is survived by his third wife, actress Harlee McBride, and stepdaughters Jessica and Bree.
