Actress Sasha Calle ("The Young and the Restless") has been cast in the role of Supergirl in the upcoming film adaptation of "The Flash" starring Ezra Miller in the title role.
Director Andy Muschietti made the announcement earlier today via an Instagram video in which he asked Calle if she can fly followed shortly thereafter telling her "You're Supergirl".
Hundreds of actresses reportedly auditioned to play the iconic character in the 2022 superhero film which, in addition to Miller, will also star Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck who will each be reprising their respective roles of Batman.
Calle will be the latest actress to portray the role of Supergirl, following in the footsteps of Helen Slater who starred as the character in the 1984 movie and, most recently, Melissa Benoist, who currently stars in the lead role on the popular CW television series which is in it's final season.
"The Flash" is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on November 4th, 2022.
