Brandon Routh to Voice Gideon Jura in "Magic: The Gathering" Animated Series
Actor Brandon Routh has been announced as the first voice cast member in the highly anticipated "Magic: The Gathering" animated series which is set to debut exclusively on Netflix in late 2022.
The animated series is currently in full production and Wizards of the Coast confirmed today that Routh ("Superman Returns", "Chuck", "DC's Legends of Tomorrow") will be the voice actor for Gideon Jura, an unfalteringly heroic Planeswalker in the "Magic: The Gathering" multiverse.
While the series brings together familiar and well-loved Planeswalkers for Magic fans, it also introduces new characters and kicks off a completely new story, so anyone - even if they've never played Magic before—will enjoy the story from episode one.
Jeff Kline ("Transformers: Prime") will serve as executive producer alongside co-executive producer and story editor Steve Melching ("Star Wars: The Clone Wars") Audu Paden as supervising director, Izzy Medrano as art director and Nicole Dubuc, Russell Sommer, Dan Frey & Taneka Stotts as writers.
The "Magic: The Gathering" animated series is produced for Netflix by Entertainment One, the studio owned by Wizards of the Coast parent company Hasbro.
