The historic Somerville Theatre in Somerville, MA will be hosting marathon screenings of several classic cartoons from Fleischer Studios that were originally released in the 1930's and 1940's.
Entitled "Fleischer Studios' Greatest Hits", the line-up will feature two episodes from the studio's Superman series including "The Bulleteers" and "The Magnetic Telescope" which will screen alongside other classic cartoons at various times from Tuesday, February 18th - Thursday, February 20th.
Starring Clayton "Bud" Collyer as Superman/Clark Kent and Joan Alexander as Lois Lane, Fleischer Studios released nine episodes of "Superman" from September, 1941 - August, 1942. Famous Studios, the successor company to Fleischer, would release an additional eight episodes from September, 1942 - July, 1943 that dealt more with World War II propaganda storylines.
