David Hasselhoff to Voice Superman in 'Dark Nights: Death Metal' Animated Shorts

Actor David Hasselhoff ("Knight Rider," "Baywatch") has been cast in the role of Superman in the DC Comics "Dark Nights: Death Metal" animated shorts series.

The DC crossover event series is the sequel to 2017's "Dark Nights: Metal" and follows Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman as they battle to save not only the DC Universe, but the entire Multiverse from the evil goddess Perpetua and The Batman Who Laughs.

Joining Hasselhoff in other voice roles are Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Black as Batman, singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolfe as Wonder Woman, Charles Fleischer ("Who Framed Roger Rabbit") as the Joker & The Batman Who Laughs, Jason R. Moore ("The Punisher") as The Darkest Knight, and Cinderella drummer Fred Coury as The Flash. The creative team behind "Dark Nights: Death Metal", writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo, will also be featured in the respective roles of the Robin King and Sgt. Rock.

"I've invited artists on the soundtrack and pop-culture personalities alike to voice the characters illustrated in Scott and Greg's masterful take on classic DC characters, which possibly has never been more relevant to real life given the challenging time the world is currently experiencing," said "Dark Nights: Death Metal" soundtrack composer and producer Tyler Bates in a statement. "We are all enjoying the camaraderie of working to bring a new dimension of these DC characters to life in a new medium."

Episodes of the "Dark Nights: Death Metal" animated shorts series can be found on DCDeathMetal.World and on the DC Comics YouTube channel.
