During the presentation of the first trailer for the animated movie, "Creature Commandos" at New York Comic Con, director James Gunn provided an update to those in attendance on when the first trailer for his upcoming "Superman" movie will be released.
"It won't be too long before we see a trailer," stated Gunn before adding "but also it won't be soon".
Gunn also took the opportunity to discuss David Corenswet's role in the film as the Man of Steel stating, "David Corenswet is going to blow people the F*** away. I don't think anyone really understands the depth of this guy's talent dramatically, comedically, [and] physically."
Previously know as "Superman: Legacy", the film stars Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent.
"Superman" is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
