James Gunn Reveals "Superman: Legacy" Office Collage

Director James Gunn has revealed a collage of images from his office featuring various panels from the comic book limited series, "Superman For All Seasons" (1998) which is one of the inspirations for "Superman: Legacy".
The series is a coming-of-age tale that follows the experiences and adventures that transform a simple country boy into the world's greatest hero. Told through the course of four seasons in the Man of Steel's adolescent life, it illustrates that it is the person, not the powers, that makes Superman a hero.
In addition to "Superman For All Seasons", Gunn previously revealed that elements from the comic book series, "All-Star Superman" (2005 - 2008) would also be an inspiration for the upcoming film. The series revolves around Superman, who is dying due to overexposure to the Sun, as he accomplishes many heroic feats (The Twelve Labors of Superman) and attempts to make peace with the world before his imminent death.
"Superman: Legacy" tells the story of Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
The film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and María Gabriela De Faría as The Engineer/Angela Spica.
"Superman: Legacy" is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
