Director James Gunn has shared two new behind-the-scenes photos from the set of "Superman".
The first image celebrates the birthday of Edi Gathegi, who plays Mr. Terrific in the film. Gunn shared a heartfelt message stating, "Happy Birthday to my great friend and great actor Edi Gathegi, who you can see in all his technological glory in Superman in July!". The image also provides a new shot of actress Rachel Brosnahan on set between filming as Lois Lane.
The second photo features actress Marí Gabriela de Faría in her role as The Engineer in which Gunn marks the anniversary of the character's creation with a playful tribute stating, "Happy Anniversary to the Engineer, created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, who you can see played to sinister perfection by puppy in human form Gaby de Faría in Superman this July!".
The official synopsis for the film reads, "James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who's driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind."
Previously know as "Superman: Legacy", the film stars David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent.
"Superman" is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
