Ads promoting the release of the Zack Snyder cut of "Justice League" have been posted in a few areas around the San Diego Convention Center where Comic-Con will take place this coming weekend.
Thus far, #ReleaseTheSnyderCut ads have been spotted on a large billboard near the convention center and at a bus stop location which is on the route fans will be taking to Comic-Con.
The ads were funded through a GoFundMe campaign which was set up earlier this year to promote the release efforts of the Zack Snyder Cut of the film during Comic-Con. Half the proceeds from the campaign went to purchasing the ads while the other half will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
In addition to the ads, hundreds of fans who are in support of the Zack Snyder Cut of the film will be in attendance at Comic-Con to promote the campaign and continue in their efforts to convince Warner Bros. to eventunally release it.
Although it is an uphill battle, similar efforts resulted in the studio releasing the Richard Donner cut of "Superman: II" in 2006 which featured a significant amount of lost footage shot by Dooner prior to his replacement on the film by director Richard Lester.
The Snyder Cut of the film features footage which was initially shot by director Zack Snyder prior to his stepping down from the production due to the untimely death of his daughter. Following his departure, Joss Whedon ("Serenity," "Avengers") was brought in on post-production for reshoots which eliminated roughly 50 - 90 minutes of footage Snyder had already shot that helped tie "Justice League" into "Batman V Superman" and "Man of Steel".
