Plano, IL Hosting First Ever "Smallville Comic Con"
Plano, IL has announced the town's first ever "Smallville Comic Con" will take place at the Depot in downtown Plano on Saturday, August 21st from Noon - 6:00pm (CT).
In the summer of 2011, Warner Brothers and DC Comics chose the small town to double as Superman's hometown of Smallville in the 2013 Superman movie "Man of Steel".
Convention activities will include artists & vendors, costume contests, food trucks, raffles, a scavenger hunt, an art gallery of the filming of "Man of Steel", a DJ & karaoke, and the Smallville Museum which features various props and memorabilia from the Smallville sequences filmed in Plano during the production.
The "Smallville Comic Con" will be similar to the town's previous outdoor festival, "Smallville Superfest" which took place from 2012 - 2018 and featured various vendors and attractions for Superman fans of all ages.
