The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema New Mission in San Francisco, CA will a present a special one-night-only screening of the 1984 "Supergirl" movie in original 35mm format on Wednesday, August 14th at 6:00PM (PDT).
The follow-up to Christopher Reeve's "Superman" saga, 1984's "Supergirl" follows Clark Kent's surviving Kryptonian cousin Kara Zor-El (Helen Slater) as she comes to earth and assumes an identity as Linda Lee to recover the Omegahedron from Selena (Faye Dunaway), a fabulously evil sorceress who presides over an avant-garde coven from her carnival funhouse. Also starring Mia Farrow, Peter O'Toole, Peter Cook, and Marc McClure reprising his role as Jimmy Olsen, "Supergirl" has been rediscovered as a camp and cult classic that put women front and center long before the new resurgence of comic book movies even began to think of doing the same.
Tickets for the screening are $19.75 (plus tax) for all ages. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit Drafthouse.com.
