"Superman: II" Flying Prop Acquired by Superman Museum

An original life-size Superman flying prop used in "Superman: II" has been acquired by the world-famous Superman Museum in Metropolis, IL.
The Welland Tribune reports that the foam rubber figure is believed to have been used in the scene from the film where Superman saves a young boy named Jason after he loses his grip on a railing and plummets into Niagara Falls.
John Fulton had all but forgotten about the foam rubber Superman figure he had stored under a staircase in the basement of his St. Catharines gym.
"... and then we started cleaning the building," he said. "He survived the clean out, but there were a few times he could have ended up in the dumpster."
Fulton had operated a second-hand and collectible shop in Fort Erie decades ago and received the figure in the early 1980s from a customer who said he had worked as a location manager on the blockbuster film.
Upon redescovering the figure, Fulton posted on various Superman websites to see if anyone was interested in the 43-year-old item and was eventually contacted by the Superman Musuem who made an offer that he couldn't refuse.
The foam rubber prop is now on it's way to Superman's official hometown of Metropolis, IL where it will be placed on display in the museum alongside the thousands of other pieces of Superman memorabilia in the collection.
