Along a section of the Historic Route 66 highway which runs through the town of Braidwood, Illinois stands a life-sized statue of Superman ready to greet passersby for a photo-op.
The statue is located outside of the Polk-a-Dot Drive In diner which has been in opertation since 1956. In addition to the Man of Steel, the photo-op also includes a phone booth and back drop of Metropolis featuring the offices of the Daily Planet.
Many other life-sized statues of movie stars and music legends are located around the diner including the Blues Brothers, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Betty Boop, and a 9-ft. tall guitar strumming Elvis Presley.
The Polk-a-Dot Drive In and Superman statue are located at 222 North Front St. (aka Route 66) in Braidwood, IL.
