Calling all budding artists aged 12-16 with a flair for the extraordinary! The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) and Warner Bros. Pictures are thrilled to announce an exciting competition offering a unique opportunity to become part of cinematic history. Young creatives are invited to design the official Black Card for the highly anticipated "Superman" movie, set to soar into UK cinemas on July 11th.
Imagine your artwork gracing cinema screens nationwide before every showing of the new "Superman" film! This spring, the BBFC is providing a platform for young talent to showcase their artistic prowess and contribute to the movie-going experience for audiences across the country.
What is a BBFC Black Card?
For those new to the world of cinema classifications, the BBFC Black Card is the screen displayed before every film in UK cinemas. It provides essential information, including the film's age rating, content advice, and other details to help viewers make informed decisions about their viewing choices.
Unleash Your Inner Superhero Artist: How to Enter
If you're a young artist between 12 and 16 with a passion for art and the Man of Steel, this is your chance to shine:
• Get Inspired: Dive into the world of Superman! Watch the latest trailers and any available sneak peeks to ignite your creativity.
• Create Original Artwork: Design a unique and captivating concept inspired by Superman, his iconic world, and its characters. Yes, even the super-pets are welcome to feature!
• Format is Key: Create your masterpiece on landscape A4 paper. Alternatively, you can download the official template from the BBFC website for guidance.
• Submit Your Vision: You can submit your entry digitally through the online submissions portal. Alternatively, you can mail your original artwork to the BBFC's London offices at: Create The Card Competition, BBFC, 3 Soho Square, London, W1D 3HD.
Important Guidelines to Remember:
• Your artwork must be entirely your own original creation.
• Using images directly from the films or online sources is not permitted.
• Designs generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) will not be accepted.
• Crucially, please leave space within your design for the BBFC to add the official elements, including the age rating symbol, film title, content advice, BBFC President and CEO signatures, and the BBFC logo. Do not add these elements yourself. The BBFC will handle this part of the design.
